Engineering position in GE Transportation, I-Based Team. Working in an applications and wireless solutions engineering development group for growth products for the locomotive market. Products include LocoCAM (Digital Video Recorder), PinPoint (GPS Asset Tracking), ERED (Event Recorder Data Download) and LocoCOMM (Satellite, Wifi, and GPS communication platform). Engineers are involved in the complete design cycle - customer requirements, concept design, detail design, validation, supplier qualification, and field support. System includes multimode wireless communications, PC electronics, embedded software, custom mechanical packaging and IT interfaces.
Job Summary: Essential Functions: Responsible for a QNX OS based software implementation for an on-locomotive video, audio, data collection and communications subsystem. Responsible for development of requirements, design, implementation, and unit testing of software applications. Responsible for implementation of test tools and processes, performing design and source code reviews, software performance testing, and development of build processes. Responsible for working with system and electrical engineers during the development program.
Basic Qualifications: A. BS Software Engineering or BS Computer Science required. B. A minimum of two years software implementation experience on a real time Operating System (QNX, OS9, PSOS, etc.) required. C. A minimum of two years experience in software design required. D. Experience in Configuration Management, Source Code Control, and Software Release tools and processes required. Eligibility Requirements: A.
